Studio portrait of Celestino García, a rancher from Conejos (Conejos County), Colorado. For many years he served in the House of Representatives in the Colorado General Assembly. He wears a suit and tie, his gray hair is parted on the side and he has a full mustache. C. García is inked on the oval image.

Content derived from inventory prepared by Dana EchoHawk.; From inventory: "Celestino García born in 1861 in Conejos, Colorado, worked as a store clerk for I.W. Hill in Alamosa between 1887 to 1893. He returned to Conejos and was elected in 1893 to the House of Representatives in the Colorado General Assembly representing Conejos County. He served for nine consecutive sessions that ended in 1911. He was elected again six years later and served from 1917 to 1918. He married María Rosa de Jesús García in 1884 and after her death in 1902, he married Cidelia Trujillo. They had ten children. Celestino died in 1919."
