Assembly
and the
Senate
. In
1879-1880
he
represented
both
Conejos
and
Costilla
Counties
in the
Colorado
General
Assembly
in the
House
of
Representatives
(Republican)
. He also
served
as
Sheriff
,
Judge
of the
County
and
Probate
Court
. He had a
reputation
a
tracker
of
criminals
because
he would
ride
a
horse
in a
gallop
and
could
trace
a
man's
tracks
in the
dry
earth
.
José
died
in
1918
in
Conejos
,
Colorado.
