Summary	Studio wedding portrait of José Amarante García and Teodora Espinosa from Conejos (Conejos County), Colorado. José wears suit and tie, he has dark hair and a full mustache. His bride, Teodora wears a lace wedding gown and veil. José was Sheriff of Conejos County and later Judge of the County and Probate Court.

Notes	Content derived from inventory prepared by Dana EchoHawk.; From inventory: "José Amarante García and Teodora Espinosa wed in 1889. Teodora was the sister of José's first wife, Sofia who had died the same year. José served as an interpreter for the House of Representatives in the Colorado General Assembly and the Senate. In 1879-1880 he represented both Conejos and Costilla Counties in the Colorado General Assembly in the House of Representatives (Republican). He also served as Sheriff, Judge of the County and Probate Court. He had a reputation a tracker of criminals because he would ride a horse in a gallop and could trace a man's tracks in the dry earth. José died in 1918 in Conejos, Colorado."
