Summary
View of the shaft house and head frame at the Atlantic Cable Mine located in Dolores County near Rico, Colo. The vein was located in 1880 by R. C. Darling, leased by the Atlantic Cable Company on March 12, 1894. Silver and copper were originally mined, but the mine later became a greater producer of zinc and lead ore during World War II.
