View of the Gilpin Hotel located at 111 Main Street, Black Hawk, Colorado. This slide was taken after renovations to change the building into a casino in 1991-1992. Built in 1870, the three-story brick structure has a second-story porch, and decorative pediments above each window and doorway. Three large floor to ceiling doors with transoms provide access to the interior from street level. "The Gilpin Hotel' is painted in a band across the facade above the third-floor windows and below a simple brick cornice. On each side of the structure are brick and stone neo-Victorian casinos built in the 1990s.
