SUBJECT: Attempted Abduction FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Larimer County Sheriff's deputies and investigators responded to the 3000 block of West Laporte Avenue on a report of an attempted abduction of a nine year old boy. It was reported that the nine year old and his five year old brother were playing in their fenced yard near the gate when a stranger came out of the weeds at grabbed the boy by the shoulders and attempted to drag the him over the fence. The family dog began barking which scared off the assailant. Deputies called in the canine team but were unsuccessful in their track. A canvas of the area was done and all leads were followed but to no avail. The Crime Scene Unit is on scene at this time as is the Victim Response Team. The father of the boy believes that he saw the suspect matching the boys' description in the area earlier in the evening. He is described as a white male in his mid 30's, balding with brown hair around his ears, wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
