LIFE IN SHADY FAST LANE / Nelson Bonnell, of Denver, finds some shade on a hot Tuesday afternoon as he guards the entry to the Grand Prix of Denver race track. Bonnell has worked at the event, now in its fifth consecutive year, since 2002, when it began racing around the Pepsi Center. Beginning today, the outbound/west lanes of Auraria Parkway will be closed for race preparations, and the inbound/east lanes will close Thursday morning. Auto races will be held Friday through Sunday.
