Stan Gray, 76 (cq) is son to Harold Gray, 105 (cq) and today they celebrated the upcoming birthday of Harold who turns 105 officially January 30,, 2006. Harold was recently placed in the Ebenezer Lutheran Senior Care facility but prior had been living locally in his home with his son taking care of him. The two traveled to Brush! United Methodist Church, 1701 Edmunds St., Brush, Colo., January 29, 2006. This is where both are members and Harold was on the board in the 1960's when the church was constructed. A new elevator has been completed allowing handicap access to the sanctuary on the top floor and the fellowship hall on the bottom floor. Harold was asked to come to be the first rider of the new elevator. The church is presided over by Reverend Dr. Harold W. Anderson, Pastor. (842-2522/380-1160). Harold has been in the hospital with pneumonia and it appeared grave a few days ago according to Stan Gray. However, the opportunity for the first ride made Harold perk up and ask for food and talk more frequently about his life. The doctors deemed him travel capable with consideration so he was thoroughly wrapped in blankets and wore a mask to keep from giving anybody his germs. He was moved in a handicap access van to and from the church and spent only minutes in the fellowship hall before being taken back to his room for a nap, albeit with a piece of homemade pumpkin pie.
