The largest rocket engine ever test fired at the Air Force Academy burns 96 pounds of solid fuel propellant on Tuesday February 14,2006. This engine will launch the Falcon Rocket later this spring from Point Magu Navel Air Station on the California coast. The rocket is designed to propel itself to an altitude of 150,000 feet with a goal of eventually delivering scientific payloads to an altitude of 100 kilometers.
