One Corriente steer tries to join the others on the final stretch of the drive from north Cheyenne pastures to Frontier Park Sunday, July 16, 2006. The drive of more than 650 Corriente long horned steers began at 8:30 a.m. after a chuck wagon breakfast. The route paralleled I-25 from the Horse Creek exit and ended at the Park. This year marks the 110th year of the Cheyenne Frontier Days event, the cattle drive is the opening event that stretches back for decades. (DAVID M. BARREDA / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
