Some of the more than 650 Corriente long horned steers stay ahead of the men and women on horseback as they drive the cattle from pasture north of Cheyenne to Frontier Park Sunday, July 16, 2006. The drive began at 8:30 a.m. after a chuck wagon breakfast. The route paralleled I-25 from the Horse Creek exit and ended at the Park. This year marks the 110th year of the Cheyenne Frontier Days event, the cattle drive is the opening event that stretches back for decades. (DAVID M. BARREDA / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
