Alan B. Catlin has been appointed Postmaster for the Denver Post Office. He will be the senior postal executive for the largest post office in the state and in the Colorado/Wyoming Rocky Mountain area. Catlin succeeds former Denver Postmaster Selwyn Epperson, who was recently promoted to District Manager of the Mid-America Postal Service District. Catlin becomes the 34th Postmaster in Denver history, going back to January 18, 1859 when Henry Allen was appointed as Denver's first postmaster. Other prominent Coloradoans who have served as Denver Postmaster have been Horace A. W. Tabor (1898-1900) and Benjamin Stapleton (1915-1921).
