Benny Cruz, 55, left, and Jim Tokar, 60, catch up over a few beers at the Sunset Tavern in downtown Aguilar July 15, 2006. Tokar and Cruz both grew up in the Aguilar. Tokar moved away from Aguilar for 33 years, but returned six years ago and now lives in the house where he was born. Cruz travels for a living, but returns each year for the annual Aguilar Days celebration.Aguilar once prospered from the numerous coal mines in the area, but over the years the town has dwindled as many of its residents, mainly young people, were forced to leave in order to find work. But every July hundreds of people who left Aguilar return for the annual Aguilar Days Festival for three days of celebrating and remembering days past.(DARIN MCGREGOR/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) **Benny Cruz (cq) ** Jim Tokar (cq)
