Inmates attend an anger management class that is near full as overcrowding at county run jails is one of the reasons that Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson(Who is also the Chairman of the legislative committee for the County Sheriffs of Colorado) spoke against Senate Bill 9 sponsored by State Senator Ed Jones, (R-Colorado Springs) because it is calling for local law enforcement to help house illegal immigrants using already depleting funding from Homeland Security. The Arapahoe County Jail is already over crowded with space for 1100 inmates and currently housing 1400 with 212 sleeping on the floors last night. 143 inmates were foreign born, but are being held for criminal offenses. "I would gladly take the responsibility ( of housing illegal immigrants ) if given the adequate funding for required recourses and jail bed space," says Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.(BARRY GUTIERREZ/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
