(DENVER, CO., Shot June 28, 2004) In the wake of heavy rains Sunday, water flow on the South Platte River has nearly quadrupled flowing at a rate of nearly 900 cfs at Confluence Park just off of Downtown Denver. Denver Parks and Recreation employees Alex Perez (left), 48, of Lakewood and Danelle (cq) Vallejos, 22, of Denver clear away debris Monday left on a landing in Confluence Park in the wake of the heavy rains. The two said they have been a lot busier this year cleaning up along the South Platte than last year. More rain is expected in the coming days. (MARC PISCOTTY/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
