A man on a bicycle rides down an alley near the Medals Plaza in Turin, Italy as the town prepares to host the 2006 Winter Olympics. The Opening Ceremonies for the games are Friday February 10, 2006 and competiton starts the next day. Turin has been described by some as the Detroit of Italy because it is the home of FIAT, one of the largest Italian car manufacturers but like many Italian towns it features quaint cobblestone alleys lined with restaurants and shops.
