Darin Barry (cq) of Denver is photographed at the State Capitol in Denver Monday, Feb. 6, 2006. Barry is the whistle-blower who is pushing for a state law to regulate funeral home practices. He also says that funeral homes in Colorado do not abide by OSHA regulations. Barry worked for a month and a half as a funeral home director and says he had no training in mortuary science when he was offered the job as funeral director last November by a man he had met online.Barry's complaints to various governmental agencies have launched separate investigations and led to proposed legislation that would require Colorado to regulate the funeral industry. The bill, by Rep. Debbie Stafford, R-Aurora, is scheduled to be introduced this week. (DAVID M. BARREDA / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) **Darin Barry (cq) (2/6/06)
