Ken Farris (cq, right) of Conifer snaps pictures inside of a kiva at the Spruce Tree House at Mesa Verde National Park near Cortez, Co. on Wednesday June 28, 2006. On June 29, 1906 Theodore Roosevelt designated Mesa Verde a national park, the first cultural national park in the history of the world. The park will celebrate it's 100th birthday with a weekend of events, dancing, musical entertainment and special tours of some of the cliff dwellings. Farris had been to the park many years ago and was taking his grandchildren to the park for the first time. (MARC PISCOTTY/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) CQ Ken Farris
