(Denver, Colo., April 22, 2004) Assistant Sergant of Arms of the House, John Wallin, whistles his way throught the House chamber floor at the State Capitol, placing doll in the seats of House members. Every Colorado legislator, House and Senate were greeted on Wednesday morning, April 21, 2004 by a handcrafted doll made by a child in his or her home district. The dolls were created by children and child advocates in communities across the state to ask for legislators' leadership on children's issues. The dolls were distributed by the Colorado Children's Campaign to the chairs of legislators in the Colorado House and Senate chambers. This is the 11th year that handcrafted dolls will be provided to Colorado lawmakers during the legislative session. Each of the dolls is accompanied by a story of a child in Colorado.
