(Denver, Colo., April 20, 2004) The Colorado House and Senate passed House Joint Resolution 1082 Tuesday morning remembering the lives lost in the fight for the rights of workers on the 90th anniversary of the Ludlow Massacre . In this photo, Senator Alice Nichol (D-Adams City) adjusts Senator Abel Tapia's (D-Pueblo) red bandanna that was given to each of the lawmakers to commemorate the event. Tapia was one of the sponsors of the resolution. From lines 34-40 of the resolution "Whereas, UMW strike-leader John Lawson placed Greek miner Louis Tikas in charge of the large tent camp near Ludlow and suggested that all strikers wear a red bandanna around their necks, as the Greek miners already wore, saying "We will demonstrate to those thugs and murderers that every one of us is as fearsome as our Greek brothers are.
