Michael L. Williams (cq, left), 42, gets some advice from Housing and Urban Development employee Candace Herbic (cq, right), of Denver at the Project Homeless Connect Denver event Thursday December 8, 2005. Williams said he has been homeless after the death of father in 2003 drove him to drinking and drugs. Williams said he is trying to get his life back on track adding, "I'm tired of being homeless". Project Homeless Connect Denver was held for the first time in conjunction with 21 other cities across the U.S. today in an effort to connect the homeless with a wide variety of services in one location. The event was held at the Colorado Convention Center and is modeled after a long-time, successful program in San Francisco. The event was a partnership between Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, Denver's Department of Human Services and the Mile High United Way. (MARC PISCOTTY / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) CQ Michael L.
