(4/16/04 DENVER, CO.) Westbury Park, at 10001 W. Burgundy Dr., was rededicated today to the memory of Kyle Velasquez, who was killed at Columbine High School five years ago when he was 16. Kyle's parents Phyllis and Al were there, and a few other people with the Foothills Parks and Recreation agency. They erected a stone with a plaque near the picnic tables and are adding a sign with Kyle's name to the bottom of the Westbury Park sign already in place. Bill Kiech, from the Foothills Parks and Recreation, smooths out the cement that they poured to keep the stone upright. Bill is 6'8" but did not hesitate to lie down on the grass to get Kyle's stone set up right. (PHOTO BY JUDY WALGREN/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
