(2/23/05, Vail, CO) Vail's Chief Operating Officer Bill Jensen says that in the short term, global warming will help Vail because it is at a higher altitude then other resorts so it will take longer for skiing to disappear, meaning that people who skied at resorts that will go out of business sooner will come to ski Vail. "A Change in the Air" - This is part of a series on climate change and this story is about the likely effects of climate change on the Colorado ski industry. Auden Schendler, director of environmental affairs at Aspen, says the industry will be dead in 50 years unless global emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases are cut bigtime.
