(CENTRAL CITY, Colo., November 19, 2004) Dick Ames, kicks a rock from the center line with his team of 8 Percheron draft horses behind. The team brought in the oversized scissors to cut the ribbon for the opening to the road. Central City Parkway dedication and grand opening occured just off highway I-70W at exit #243, Hidden Valley/Central City exit. It is the newly complete, a day ahead of schedule, easy access to the Central City gambling facilities. Buddy Lazier, Colorado's very own Indianapolis 500 winner, took to the roadway for a one time only speed record traveling the distance in 3 minutes averaging speeds of 155 mph with a top speed of 160mph....The state highway patrol emphasized safe driving from here on out.
