Brighton, Co., October 28, 2004. Mia Kontnak, a sophomore at Cherry Creek High School, pushes two wheelchairs to a loading area on Thursday (10-28-04). Cherry Creek High School students in the newly-formed C.U.R.E Club helped load $400.000 worth of donated medical supplies and equipment on Thursday (10-28-04) to be shipped to the Yad Sarah organization in Jerusalem. The students are working with Project C.U.R.E., a Denver-based non-profit humanitarian relief agency that collects medical surplus and donates it to developing countries. Earlier this year after a community service trip to Costa Rica, Mia Kontnik founded the first ever PROJECT C.U.R.E. International Service Club at Cherry Creek High School to engage students in serving the medical needs of ill andd needy people around the world. (George Kochaniec, Jr./ ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
