Zoo keeper, Jessica Meehan, cq, 24, watches as members of the Denver media get photographs and video of a baby Humboldt Penguin sitting in it's brooder in the bird house's incubator room of the Denver Zoo, on Thursday, August 25, 2005. The baby Humboldt Penguin born on July 19th is one of two new baby Humboldt Penguin chicks born at the Denver Zoo. Zoo keepers are raising this one by hand after the egg was discarded by it's mother two weeks prior to hatching. The other is being raised by it's natural parents. This penguin (unknown sex) has not been named yet. The chicks eats nearly 10 percent of its' own body weight at each meal which consist of cut up smelt and herring.
