Phuong Nguyen (cq, center) of Montrose points to some items on the menu as local Montrose residents Kecia Replogle (far left, cq) and her daughter Ashlynn (cq, left center), 9, step up to the counter to order at The Coffee Trader in Montrose. Nguyen, who is openly gay and his partner are co-owners of the very popular coffee house. He said the community there is quite tolerant of their lifestyle although many gay residents of the town choose to not publicize their sexual orientation. Nguyen said the town hasn't been talking much about the death of Kevin Hale because, "nobody knows what truly happened". Twenty-four-year-old Todd Fiske and 21-year-old Adam Hernandez, both of Montrose, have been charged in the death of Kevin Hale, a local gay man in small Colorado town. They have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of the 36-year-old Montrose man. His body was found in Buckley Park on July 29, 2005 and family and friends believe Hale was killed because he was gay.
