PIO for DPD Sonny Jackson (l) and on the right are asst city attorney Luis Corchado (cq) (r). Later Padilla was disappointed with the city for not firing Ford. Manager of Safety Alvin LaCabe announced Friday 8/5/05 his decision to suspend Officer Ranjan Ford, the officer involved in the deadly shooting of Frank Lobato, for ninety (90) days without pay based on his conclusion that Officer Ford's assessment of the threat posed by Lobato on July 11, 2004, and his subsequent use of force, were not objectively reasonable under the circumstances.
