(BORMIO, Italy - Shot 2/13/2005) U.S. skiier Ted Ligety reacts after crossing the finish line as the last U.S. racer in the Nations Team Event at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Bormio, Italy on Sunday February 13, 2005. The U.S. team finished fourth one point behind France (38 points) and Austria was second (29 points) and Germany won the event (26 points). The event featured two women and two men from each country competing in a Super G and Slalom run with the lowest score winning the event. Ligety finished in 43.76 seconds in third place. Had he finished .06 seconds faster the U.S. would have tied for third in the overall standings with France. The U.S. team had dug themselves a big hole to climb out of when Lindsey C. Kildow and Julia Mancuso did not finish their Super G runs. (Photo by MARC PISCOTTY / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
