(BORMIO, Italy - Shot 2/10/2005) Austrian skiier Hermann Maier raises his skis over his head after winning the Men's Giant Slalom of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships on the Pista Stelvio course in Bormio, Italy on Thursday. Maier was in second after the first of two runs but chraged back to take first place with a two-run time of 2:50.41. U.S. favorite Bode Miller fell on his first run knocking him out of the race but teammate Daron Rahlves put in a strong first run and ended up finishing third in the race with a two run total time of 2:51.09.
