(BORMIO, Italy - Shot 2/10/2005) U.S. skiier Daron Rahlves (#16) throws his helmet in frustration after his second run in the Men's Giant Slalom at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships on the Pista Stelvio course in Bormio, Italy on Thursday. Rahlves was leading the field after the first run but fell to third after a second run that was more than two seconds slower than his first. U.S. favorite Bode Miller fell on his first run knocking him out of the race. Rahlves put in a strong first run and ended up finishing third in the race with a two run total time of 2:51.09.
