Maier was in second place after the first run but put in a strong second run to win the race in a twp-run time of 2:50.41. U.S. favorite Bode Miller fell on his first run knocking him out of the race but teammate Daron Rahlves put in a strong first run and ended up finishing third in the race with a two run total time of 2:51.09.
