(SOMERSET, Colo., February 21, 2005) Union Pacific cars loaded with coal from the Elk Creek Mine in Somerset, Colorado wait adjacent to state hwy 133 Tuesday, February 22, 2005, to begin the trip to Grand Junction and then east to Denver and beyond. Colorado's coal production in 2004 was a record for the fourth time in a row, but the industry might not grow much further because Colorado doesn't have enough railroads to deliver the coal to the midwest and east coast where utilities are switching from expensive Appalachian coal to Colorado's clean coal.
