Antonito, Colo.shot on 2/7/05- Jeannie Morris continues her daily routines -- shopping at the market. It is the hub for the community. Her car is decorated with plastic ribbons for her son Jon Morris, 19 who joined the army and has been at camp since May. "I begged him not to go",she said. She doesn't know when or if he'll be in Iraq neither does Jon. In Antonito, some 36 young adults have joined the armed forces and are now in Iraq, just returned or are on the way. The military is seen as a way out of a town that holds no future. It is a long tradition in the valley. (photo by Staff Photographer Linda McConnell/Rocky Mountain News)
