(ERIE, Colo., January 31, 2005) Erie Police Officers, Mike Haefele, (cq Haefele from pio on scene, Fred Diehl, phone at bottom of caption), left, kneeling, working a measuring device with officer Dave Taylor, left center, holding a marking sign with small red square in center, beyond blue minivan, bottom center of frame, one of two vehicles involved in the crash, take readings to reconstruct the accident scene. A head on accident between a minivan and an ambulance occured on Weld County Road 8 west of Highway 25 at 8:08am. Possible icy roads were suspect. Six of seven people were transported to area hospitals. No injuries were specified. The westbound amublance was traveling "hot" with three patients from highway 25. The minivan braked from eastbound to allow the ambulance to pass but skidded headon into the ambulance throwing both vehicles into the ditch.
