(ERIE, Colo., January 31, 2005) Tow truck operators wait for police investigators to finish their measurements before they remove the overturned ambulance from the crash scene on Weld County Road 8 near Erie on Monday morning. A head on accident between a minivan and an ambulance occured on Weld County Road 8 west of Interstate 25 at 8:08am, Monday, January 31, 2005. Icy road conditions might have been a factor in the crash. The westbound ambulance was traveling with its lights flashing with three patients from a previous accident on I-25 when a minivan coming from the opposite direction slowed to allow the ambulance to pass but skidded head on into the emergency vehicle, sending both vehicles into the ditch.
