(1/28/05, Chennai, India) Dawn Anderson hugs Samson George good-bye while he holds his four-year-old daughter Renita at the Chennai Airport before the medical team gets on the plane for home. The good-bye continues today in Chennai for the Dalit Freedom Network. The group got together and held a ceremony where everyone brought something to the group meeting to put into the "pot" that symbolized their experience in India during the trip. They prayed for the country to release their caste system hold over beliefs, they prayed for the suffering of the Dalits, for the government, for the children and women. They found closure from the wounds that were opened the day before and found joy in the group experience of grief and healing. (Judy Walgren, Rocky Mountain News)
