(DENVER, Colo., January 19, 2005) Gary Wright, CEO for G.A. Wright Marketing, Inc., left, stands by a fir tree for a "topping off" ceremony on the roof of the company's new building at 10325 East 47th Ave., in the Stapleton Business Center, near Havana and 47th. His brother, Dave Wright, rt, the electrical foreman for the building project, helped Gary erect an American flag near the tree. The ceremony commemorates the completion of the exterior structure of the new facility, and includes the placing of a fir tree at the top of the building (the tree was already in place before the ceremony). Construction workers and other employees watch from below. According to the press release, the traditional "topping off" ceremony dates back to around 700 AD, when Scandinavians replanted a fir tree in newly completed structures to mollify the forest gods, from which trees have been taken to build the structure.
