(1/18/05, Kaalapet, India) Best friends Vishnu, 8, and Dineshkuma, 9, are both happy they survived the disaster. It was so nice to see these two boys with such big smiles on their faces. The Dalit Freedom Network group returned to the Kaalapet Medical Camp to continue their work from the day before. Zenia Tata, the director for an at risk youth shelter and program in Denver made her way around the village seeking out people who had lost family members in the tsunami and asking them if they would like to speak about it with her. All of the people she encountered said yes and some even heard about her visit and sought her out. The village lost 17 people in the tsunami and the devestation was not as bad as in other places, but nevertheless, the people were traumatized by the event and talking to someone not from the village seemed to be a relief for many of them, if not all of them.
