(1/17/05,Kaalapet, India) Govindammal winces in pain because of a frozen shoulder that happened from the trauma of the tsunami. She came to the medical camp to see if they could fix it and Cheryl Bencala was able to show her exercises to do to open it back up. They also gave her Tylenol for the pain. The Dalit Freedom Network group left Chennai, India, headed for Pondicherry, where they quickly checked into the Anandha Inn, ate lunch with their Indian co-workers and then hit the road again for Kaalapet to work in the medical camp that OM had set up. The village lost 17 people in the tsunami and the devestation was not as bad as in other places, but Samson George from OM felt like it was a good place for the Americans to get grounded in their work before moving onto more affected areas in two days.
