(1/16/05,Chennai, India) Nanci Ricks inspected the suture kits as they repack their luggage at the Breeze Hotel. The Dalit Freedom Network group arrived Sunday morning in Chennai, India and hit the ground running. They went back to the Breeze Hotel and unpacked their 140 pound of luggage per person - then organized all of the items they brought into groups for easy distribution at the camps Monday when they start their work. Afterwards, some of the group went shopping for local outfits to wear in the affected areas they will visit and work in the next week and a half along the southern coast of India hit by the Tsunami. Then they met in Rick Kitchens room about the trip and said a prayer before ending the group meeting and going to dinner. (Judy Walgren, Rocky Mountain News)
