Officers of the Colorado State Patrol and Adams County Coroner investigate a fatal accident scene on Interstate 76 near Lochbuie. Two people were killed and third was near death after their van slid off of a slushy and snowy Interstate-76, rolled and crashed into a bridge support. The accident occurred early Monday at the Adams-Weld County line, near Lochbuie. The wreckage came to a rest 10 feet inside Adams County. Colorado State Trooper Shannon Straley said the people in the van were from Mexico and crossed into the United States at El Paso, Texas. They were driven to Denver and were on the last leg of their trip into Nebraska when the crash occurred. Names of the victims may not be available for several days, until officials can locate their families in Mexico. There were seven people in the van; two died and one is in very critical condition, according to Trooper Straley. The others in the van were treated at area hospitals and released.
