Frank Jaeger, District Manager of Parker Water and Sanitation District, poses for a portrait at the Rueter-Hess Reservoir Thursday October 6, 2005. The water district in conjunction with other districts hopes to create an innovative farm fallowing program in northeastern Colorado, using the water that is saved to help keep the growing south metro area in water. The district and Jaeger have long been searching for renewable water sources to augment a finite amount that is already being pumped out of the aquifer. The Rueter- Hess Reservoir will store excess Cherry Creek water and any additional water rights the district is able to aquire. The project isn't expected to be completed until 2011.
