For the Ref C and D Project: Shot on September 9, 2005, in Denver - Victor Smith (cq) sits in on a board meeting at the CHARG Resource Center in Capitol Hill, a local non-profit/clinic for people suffering from mental illness. He had a knee replacement from his long-term use of HIV drugs, which became seriously infected which is why he has to use a cane. He will have the knee replacement again soon. Blind and suffering from major depression as well as infected with AIDS, Victor Smith (cq) does not let that stand in his way. He works at the CHARG Dop-In Center, supports other people who are also infected with AIDS or who suffer from mental illness, is a local activist and an all around good person. He said that without his depression meds, he will become suicidal and is afraid that if Referenda C and D do not pass, that mental health side of Medicaid will be slashed.
