Netting is draped over grapevines at Garfield Estates Winery in Palisade, Colorado to prevent birds from eating them before the grapes are harvested. September 18, 2005. The nets are put on about 3-4 weeks before harvest time. The Bookcliffs tower over the vines, reflecting heat onto the land, making it a better environment for growing grapes.
