Hurricane Katrina evacuee Cash Smith (cq), 24, of New Orleans and his two kids were reunited with other family members Monday September 5, 2005 at DIA through the efforts of Rocky Mountain Relief, a grass-roots effort that is helping people to relocate to Denver in the wake of the disaster. The family members were separated while trying to leave the Superdome after flooding overtook the city and Smith said he likes what he's seen so far of Denver and the generosity of strangers here. He said, "we'll start over from scratch here in Denver". Frontier Airlines, Marriott Hospitality and Doubletree hotels have all donated flights, lodging and meals in the effort. Cash Smith (center) hugs his younger brother Sam Smith (cq, left), 13, and Demetrius Mathews (cq, right), 13, the niece of his common law wife Latoya Mathews in the Main Terminal Monday.
