Bernadette Atencio, cq, supervisory repository specialist, for U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Dept. of Interior's National Eagle Repository looks over the facilities storage cooler that stores Bald and Golden Eagles waiting to be evaluated and then mailed out to a waiting list of Native Americans on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. About 1,600 to 1,700 eagles are recovered from around the country with a nearly double that in request. Depending on the request by Native Americans one could wait 3-monthes for a single item or about 4-years for a specific request for an immature Golden Eagle.
