Electrician Dalan McDevitt (cq) assembles the Elizabeth Estey chandelier in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex on August 10, 2005. The chandelier (according to a press release) weighs 500 lbs., and is 16 feet wide, and 12 feet high. According to Peter Lucking (cq), design principal with Semple Brown Design(cq) in Denver, and lead designer of the opera house, says the chandelier is designed to look like a snowflake. Semple Brown Design worked with lighting designer Teal Brogdan, with Horton Lees Brogden Lighting, to design the chandelier. During performances, the light fixture will raise and fold up, and lower again during intermission.
