Colin Connors (cq), left, 17, gets a hug from his mother Yvonne Grinnell (cq), both of Denver, after he finished the Courage Classic, a three-day, 157-mile cycling event to raise funds for Children's Hospital in Leadville, Colo., on Monday, July 18, 2005. Connors was diagnosed at 18 months with Necrofibromatosis Type I, which causes tumors. Connors has ridden the Courage Classic 6 times but he missed the last two years. "He's the comeback kid," said his mother, Grinnell. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy in pill form. Approximately 2,000 cyclists tackled the course which goes from leadville to Summit County and back again. Last year the event raised $1.4 million and this year they hope to raise more. Donations to Team Courage can be made at www.couragetours.com. (CHRIS SCHNEIDER/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) ** Colin Connors (cq), Yvonne Grinnell (cq)
