The Denver Police Department released their crime report June 16, 2005. Crime has gone up in Denver. After years of enjoying either decreases or relatively insignificant increases in crime, Denver saw an overall increase in crime of 2.1 percent, with a much bigger spike in violent crime of 23.2 percent. City officials say part of the increase is due to changes in the way crime is reported. Zach Bauer (cq) lived in Lincoln Park for two years and during that time had his car three times. He now lives in the Baker District, and has had his car broken into once since May. (Judy Walgren/The Rocky Mountain News) Zach Bauer (cq)
