The Mile High Youth Corps has employed area youths this summer to xeriscape and plant trees. On Wednesday June 15 ,2005 one crew was at Washington Park planting trees for the Parks and Recreation Department. This summer the Mile High Youth Corps has hired 50 area youths between 16 and 24 years old into the work force and teaches them job and life skills . James Sierra (cq) and Elvia Martinez (cq) dig a hole on the south end of Washington Park for a tulip tree. The tulip tree is an exotic large-leafed tree, scientifically known as liriodendron tulipfera (cq) that is great for shade.
